Last night I had a great drive to and from seeing my Mister. The drive is about 20-25 minutes each way and the Pandora station I was listening to was just really playing some great music. This is pretty much what most of my drive looks like.

I had the pleasure of seeing Christie DuPree when the Mister and I went to see Eisley a few weeks back. She was AMAZING! Seriously. Very sweet gal and an awesome voice to boot. We bought her EP right after the show was over and we've both had it on repeat. Below is one of the songs that is on the EP and we heard live. Enjoy!

My first time hearing Eisley was on my first out-of-town trip with the Mister. This trip was magical in many ways but I found out about some great new music during the drive and many of the artists have stayed with me since. I think the first song I can actually say I called a favorite was My Lovely which can be watch online here. Now, I have many favorites and a Pandora station that is always my go-to.

The movie Juno is just amazing. I love the dialogue, the characters, and the music. It's one of the movies I could watch over and over and never get tired. Now I know this came out quite some time ago but as I said, I just cannot tire of it and since I can listen to the soundtrack on repeat, I thought I would share a few of my favorites with you.

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, the mister and I checked out a local show last Friday night and I was rather fond of a band called The Silent Comedy. Unfortunately I couldn't find any of their music on the usual playlist site I use, but I found a great video on youtube. The quality is good and this is one of the songs that I had the pleasure of seeing live.

A new week, a new play list! This week I'm featuring a band I've begun to get into recently and very glad I found, Metric. If you've seen Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, you've heard a Metric song. It's the cover Envy Adams from The Clash at Demonhead pranced around too on stage just before the battle between Scott and the vegan. (If you have no clue what I'm talking about, you haven't seen the movie and to that I say, APPALLING! Drop what you're doing and watch now! Gaming nerd or nerd in general, or lover of funny/awesome movies you are missing out by not seeing this. But I digress....) Now don't think I didn't like the movies version of the song, because I really did. However, the actress' way of singing the song is completely from the original. (Fun fact: The Clash at Demonhead band name came from a 1990 video game on Nintendo. Don't you just love how they incorporated games into so many tiny bits of the movie as well as large ones?)

So now that I have geeked out about the movie and revealed what an utter nerd I am, I will share with you the songs! I have included the two Metric songs I adore and the cover from Scott Pilgrim last for comparison. The cover also includes a bit of dialogue from the music as that is how it appears on the soundtrack. Enjoy!

I see posts like this all over the blog world and had to jump on board. My music taste is all over the place. Deftones to Taylor Swift , Jay-Z to Sigur Ros. This means there is always something I can listen to, to match my mood.

This semester (his final one!) the mister is taking a music class and the focus lately has been on early jazz. He really enjoyed it and though I've always loved older-type music (think Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, etc.) jazz hasn't been on my radar, until now. Below are two songs I adore! The first is a song that came up on the early jazz Pandora station I stole from the mister and the second is a beautiful song by Louis Armstrong. Enjoy!
